Halo Extensions Care
Everything you need to know to care for your hair
How to apply your extensions
-First, section off your hair from an inch behind the hairline and all the way around just below your occipital bone.
-Next, you hold the halo on either side and start by putting the halo on back to front.
-Then, as you pull the halo wire towards the front of your head, place it at the beginning of your part.
-Once, the halo is on the head, take your tail comb that is included in your box and comb your hair down around the wire.
-Finally, use a brush to brush your hair into the halo and if needed you can pick up a few pieces to retouch and curl.
How to care for your extenisons
To care for these beautiful pieces, less is more.
The halos hold curl incredibly well so there is no need to use excessive heat. When you wash your halo, you will definitely need to blow dry them with a brush. I do not recommend hairspray with Halos. If you are looking for hold, a texture spray should work perfectly. I also recommend a hair oil to rehydrate the ends. Otherwise, I say shampoo and condition the hair as needed, which for some people is once every few weeks to once every few months.
How to store your halo:
Clip the weft to your Halo hanger and it will ensure your halo stays tangle free and prolong the curls and style.
What brush do you use on your halo:
Do not use a comb or a paddle brush on your halo as it will compromise the integrity of the hair. I recommend using the halo brush that comes with your order.
How to wash:
Wet the extensions
Apply shampoo
Lather, move in a downward motion.
Rinse with cold water
Apply moisture mask/conditioner
Comb through to evenly distribute product
Leave in 5 minutes, then rinse with cold water
Wring out extra water and apply 2-3 drops of your favorite serum/oil
Lay extensions on a towel or hang to air dry
When mostly dry, blow dry with a brush to to smooth out before straightening or curling to style.
Styling tips:
Styling your extensions can be a game changer in how well they blend with your real hair. That being said, it’s important to style safely in order to keep them as hydrated as possible. Keep the following things in mind.
You can use heat on your extensions! I prefer to use a curling iron over a straightener because it is less damaging over time.
You should brush your extensions before you put them in and after you take them out. If you are in windy weather or you’re typically active then you might want to brush them in the middle of the day.
When brushing your extensions, be sure to use one hand to hold the top of the weft in place and then brush.
If your extensions feel dry (which will happen after a couple of wears) then spray them with a shine spray OR put a little bit of oil on your hands and run your fingers through the hair to rehydrate.
